Today was a quick run out to the suburbs of Manchester and then a dash back into the city on the tram. This was the first time I've ever used a tram in the UK and it's kind of ok,  quick and easy to understand. The route diagram is similar to the TFL Tube map and is based on 4 Zones. I purchased a ticket on the platform and then jumped onto a tram. I'm told that you have to have   a ticket to ride . I think the rain must have put off the ticket inspectors as I only encountered one on my return journey normally it's at least 3. Lastly when I can I always like to attempt to photograph the excellent WW1 Memorial that is situated just outside the railway station entrance.
