Red Bull Gives You Wings But Where Do The Cans Land When You Throw The Cans Out Of Your Car Window.

My wife and I consider ourselves very lucky we live in a wonderful part of Shropshire next to a river and just far enough from a town to be very socially distanced. My wife is self employed but not working due to Covid 19 and I'm a freelance photographer, so at the moment we have a lot of time on our hands and as a result of lockdown we have developed a routine of mountain biking in the morning and taking a long river walk in the afternoon. To access the river we have to walk 1.5k along a path that is adjacent to the river before then gaining access onto a public right of way which allows a 6 mile walk along the river bank into the local town.

After a few walks we  noticed how much rubbish there was on the side of the road so today the 27/01/2021 we joined the ranks of the environmentalists and took the bold decision of attempting to pick up all of the litter between the access point to the river and our house.

Three hours and four large garden sacks later we arrived back at home slightly dazed, proud but very confused about the proliferation of rubbish that human beings seem to be throwing out of their motor vehicles as they speed along our countryside toads. As a result of our endeavours here are a few questions that we hope we can  find the answers to.

Why is Red Bull so popular and why do people throw the cans out of their vehicles rather than taking them home and placing them into their litter bins ?.

Are Red Bull aware of the fact that their cans are being thrown out of vehicles and as a result seem to be littering a vast amount of the UK countryside ?.

Does Red Bull have the capacity to manufacture biodegradable drinks containers ?.

Would Red Bull consider contributing to environmental campaigns that would result in the collection and recycling of their cans on a national and worldwide basis. I am aware that they have a promotional payment plan in place that advantages any contracted sportsperson whose image is published showing them drinking a can of Red Bull ?.

Are Walkers Crisp Packets Biodegradable ?.

Are Walkers Crisps working on a Biodegradable Crisp  Packet ?.

Whilst I can certainly say that majority of cans that were recovered from the path were Red Bull they were by no means on their own, other collected brands were Carling, Stella Artois, Carlsberg, Coke, lots of plastic Lucozade sport bottles and so many Walkers Crisp Packets. Amazingly there were not many cigarette packets and only a couple of cycle gel wrappers.

In conclusion I would like to ask why we humans seem so hell bent on destroying our environment ?. When the implementation of social responsibility and education would go a long way to solving what appears to be on the surface a very complex situation. However  the mere application of simple  remedies at both grass roots and corporate level may just save our planet before we immerse ourselves in a layer of grime that we will all be unable to scramble out of ?.
