SURF PHOTOGRAPHY WITH A GO PRO HERO 4 SILVER
After checking the surf reports on magicseaweed the surf gear and dog were packed into and onto our Mercedes and the mad dash made to Llangennith for a days surfing. The whole journey took 3hours door to door including an unscheduled stop at PJ'S to pick up a WetSuit because one of our team forgot to pack his. Surfing is an inexpensive sport to get into you can hire a Wetsuit and a Board for £25.00 per day and if you are prepared to travel you can pick up a Surfboard on Ebay for no more than £150.00 , a good Wesuit can be had for about £30.00.
Llangennith is one of those Jewels in the Welsh Crown that is best kept a secret , YES two and a half miles of golden sands, Waves to die for and of course the famous Fast Eddies and Hillend Campsite so popular infact that you are not allowed to pre book .
On this shoot I used a Go Pro Hero 4 Silver, unfortunately a wrist mount that I ordered did not arrive in time so I had to mount the Camera on a Pole. The Camera was set to three frames per second in wide mode as I had this mad idea of trying to get as close as possible to the subject, this seems like a great idea when you are on the land but not such a great idea when you are in the water trying to counterbalance the effect of a Swell and 6ft Waves breaking over your head.
